Women’s Flat Track Derby Association
In September of 2009 DCRD was accepted as one of the first 10 leagues in the country to participate in the Apprentice Program through the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
On June 18, 2010, in just its third year of existence, Evansville’s Demolition City Roller Derby league was awarded the sport’s highest honor, full membership into the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
‘WFTDA is delighted to welcome our new members, all of whom represent the highest standard in athletics and league management,’ said WFTDA Executive Director Juliana Gonzales. ‘We know they’ll infuse our organization with lots of fresh ideas and great skaters.’
WFTDA is an international organization governing the sport of women’s flat track derby and provides member leagues with standardized rules, hosts regional and national tournaments and sets safety standards for the sport.
